Hi: Human Intelligence!

So, why do laboratories offer an Ai designed restoration?

There is no single answer to this question however, I can share some of the typical reasons. AND I will share why we do NOT utlize Ai for crown design!

Ai does NOT:

  • Call in "sick".
  • Show up late.
  • Leave early.
  • Require 2-3 weeks of paid vacation.
  • Require excessive breaks
  • NOT get along with others.
  • Need absurdly expensive health benefits.
  • Need retirement benefits.
  • Lie, cheat & steal.
  • Cost thousands of dollars in associated taxes such as payroll, FMLA & disability.
  • Require DEI training and associated HR issue resolution.
  • Get mis-gendered and sue the company.
  • AND it is CHEAP! Quite frankly if your laboratory services DSO's or group practices that do NOT care about quality, authenticity or esthetics and ONLY care about profitability how else can you provide these practices with a crown for under $79.00??? That's why laboratories utlize Ai. PERIOD.

So, why does Gardali Advanced Restorative NOT utlize Ai?

Simple. It's NOT good enough, We test this business model often. Ai designs are inferior to say the least. In addition, many cases REQUIRE communication with the Doctor in order to provide a clinically sound, well-fitting, beautiful restoration! Ai will NOT call you to discuss a case. And to be frank...I simply do NOT want to serve these type practices. Thus I share with you MY PROMISE. "NO Ai. Restorations deigned by HUMANS"

AI in dental laboratories is limited by data privacy risks, and the inability to fully replace human expertise in complex, customized cases. While improving efficiency, AI struggles with data scarcity for rare conditions, potential algorithmic bias from non-representative training data, and the need for significant human oversight to ensure quality.

Key limitations of AI in dental laboratories include:

· Data Privacy & Security: AI systems require vast amounts of patient data, raising concerns regarding secure handling and data breaches.

· Lack of Generalization & Context: AI models trained on limited or narrow datasets may fail to generalize to unique or rare cases, often requiring human, artistic adjustment for optimal aesthetics and occlusion.

· Algorithmic Bias: If training data lacks diversity, AI tools can produce biased results, leading to inequities in dental appliance fit and design.

· Need for Human Oversight: AI is a tool to assist, not replace, skilled technicians; relying solely on AI can lead to errors due to "black box" algorithms, where the logic behind the output is not transparent.

· Training & Workflow Integration: Significant training is required to use AI effectively, and integrating new systems into existing, disparate laboratory workflows is challenging.
